What To Expect This Year

We know, we know, you have emails to write or are worried something else may come up, but don’t let that stop you from giving your full attention to the event. Grab a cup of coffee, a snack, and your Core notebook and get ready to participate in the kick-off event of the year!

1) Preparation – 
Are you fully prepared for Ignite? Review the checklist and get ready for the event now.

2) Attendance – 
Please show up to your designated sessions on time. You can check out the schedule here. Depending on your ticket type, Hopin will show you the sessions that apply to you.

3) Participation – 
We are encouraging participation throughout so be ready to respond to polls and chats in your session. There may be times we request that you turn on your video/audio.

4) Engagement – 
Please utilize the event chat feature, respond to polls and show up to your sessions ready to engage with the content. BONUS – those who are most engaged and utilize the chat and polling feature most will be entered to win prizes like an Apple Watch, StairMaster SM3 or extra PTO!

5) Excitement – 
We wish we could be in person too, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited for a brand new Ignite experience! Together we can CHANGE IT UP and FIND A WAY to kick off the new year as a team. We’ll see you soon!

Attendee Troubleshooting Quick Reference Guide

How do I access the event?

Make sure you are logged into the account you used to register. You can access the event here: https://hopin.com/events/ignite-2021

What browser are you using?

You must be using Google Chrome. If you are not, please re-enter the event on Google Chrome. Please make sure the only webpage and application you have open is Hopin. That means you must be closed out of Teams too.

Can I use my phone?

Please use your computer to access the event using Google Chrome as the browser. Please make sure the only webpage you have open is the Hopin event.

I can’t turn on my audio or video. 

If you experience error messages with audio and video, try refreshing the page. Also, make sure you do not have Teams open at the same time. As a best practice, restart your computer before joining the event. This ensures that there are no other video applications holding onto audio or video for any reason. More information here. Also, it depends where you are in the event. If you are in Stage, you cannot share. If you are in a session, the moderator can control who gets to share audio and video. If you are in an Expo booth, the expo booth moderator can control who gets to share audio and video.

The presenter is showing a pre-recorded video but I can’t see it.

Try refreshing the page and the video should load back up.

Can I make the session full screen?

Currently, there is no way to view sessions in full screen. What you can do is click the |> button in the top right of your browser to minimize the chat. We also recommend that you view the session on your largest monitor.

I’m having issues with my audio.

    1. 1. First, check to make sure Windows is using the correct device for speaker output by clicking on the speaker icon in the taskbar. (Sometimes Windows can switch an output to a different device, unbeknownst to you.) At the top of the pop-up window, you’ll see the name of the speaker currently in use—e.g., Speakers (2-Anker PowerConf). Click on that name to switch to the proper device, if applicable. If using external speakers, make sure they are powered on.
    1. 2. Restart your computer.
    1. 3. Check the speaker icon in the taskbar that the audio is not muted and is turned up.
    2. 4. Ensure that your computer isn’t muted via hardware, like a dedicated mute button on your laptop or keyboard.
    1. 5. Right-click the volume icon and click Open Volume Mixer. Make sure all options are on and turned up.
    1. 6. Plug headphones in to see if that serves a workaround. When participating in a virtual event, we always recommend using headphones.
  1. 7. Right-click the volume icon again and choose Open Sound settings. In the window that opens, find Related Settings, then click on Sound Control Panel. In the Playback tab, confirm that your audio device (likely ‘Speakers’) has a green checkmark next to it. Then click Properties and make sure that Use this device is enabled.

If all else fails…

Refresh browser page.

Use an incognito window on your browser.

Close the browser completely and restart.

Reboot your computer.
