Health, Fitness and Wellness Veteran Tom Johnson Tapped to Fill a Critical Growth Role with Core Health & Fitness as Director of Global Channel Marketing

Vancouver, WA, March 19th, 2018 – Core Health & Fitness, an industry leader in commercial fitness products, is excited to grow their marketing and sales leadership with the addition of Tom Johnston as Director of Global Channel Marketing.
Tom began his career in the fitness industry as a Nautilus instructor at Club Fit, NY. It was there that his career quickly progressed, leading to positions win membership sales, then Membership Director. In 1990, Tom became the General Manager of Weymouth Club in Weymouth, MA. In this role, Tom transformed a tennis-only club into a premier total fitness center offering best in class programming for adults, teens and children. His success led to a Vice President of Operations role for 11 years with Saw Mill Sports Management where he oversaw 5 facilities throughout New York and Connecticut providing leadership to over 500 employees. During his tenure his focus on strategic planning and culture development created growth of over 50%.
In 2008, Tom was recruited to American Leisure which eventually became LIVunLtd where he served as Chief Operating Officer. LIVunLtd is a premier provider of custom concierge, fitness and wellness experience for Residential and Commercial buildings, spas and hotels worldwide. As a key member of the senior leadership team, Tom was directly responsible for all aspects of enterprise-wide operations. Tom steered the organization through acquisitions, mergers and rebranding, creating a centralized, cohesive team fully aligned with corporate goals and objectives. His operations team oversaw services for 75 properties including white glove staffing and experiences. During Tom’s leadership the business grew from $7.5M to over $20M in revenue. Tom oversaw some significant development programs including Station at Xchange, Drill Fitness, Asbury Park Waterfront and King Abdulla University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia.
In his new role at Core, Tom will lead the company’s expansion into the Hospitality, Education and Multi-Unit Housing Channels. He will lead the company’s marketing and sales efforts on a global basis to grow market share and increase opportunity for the company and its distributors. “I am very excited to have Tom join us in this capacity,” commented Tim Hawkins, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Core Health & Fitness. “Tom’s balance of global leadership experience, culture development and his depth in the channels makes him the perfect leader for this role.
