Global Health, Fitness and Wellness Company Shows Support for Students by Offering Scholarship Program for College Students

Core Health & Fitness is honored to partner with the NIRSA Foundation to demonstrate their dedication to the campus recreation community.

NIRSA is a non-profit membership association that provides resources and education in order to advance campus recreation. Founded in 1950, NIRSA’s network now includes more than 4,500 professionals and students serving in Campus Rec programming such as well-being, fitness, aquatics, outdoor programs, facility management, and more. NIRSA provides continuous professional development through the vehicle of play.

“Core Health & Fitness remains committed to this investment in personal and professional development for the clients we serve in each NIRSA region,” explains Ken Wolters, Global Education Channel Manager for Core Health & Fitness. “We appreciate every opportunity to partner in shaping a positive student experience in collegiate recreation.”

Through this scholarship program, Core offers students and professionals access to specific learning opportunities such as educational seminars, conferences, webinars, etc. Attending any of these, requires financial support that not all schools are able to offer their students or staff members. Core is thrilled to deliver this type of support to students and to help grant access to these professional development tools.

Erin Patchett, a recent recipient of the Core Health & Fitness scholarship said, “Receiving the stipend from Core Health & Fitness in 2019 allowed me to facilitate attending both the NIRSA Annual Conference in Boston, MA as well as the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) in Portland, OR. Being able to attend NIRSA was vital from a learning and support standpoint. Having Core there to provide this support helped expand my access to professional growth opportunities.”

Core is excited to renew their commitment to this vital program in hopes of further enhancing the effectiveness of collegiate recreational sports. Through this program, Core will continue to provide scholarship opportunities for student members.

“We are delighted and most appreciative of the opportunities that Core Health & Fitness provides through the NIRSA Travel Scholarship program. We are excited to continue working with Core, and we look forward to investing in students, together,” explains Kim Holmes, Director of Philanthropy for the NIRSA Foundations.
