Schwinn Cycling Silver Weekend
BECOME A SILVER LEVEL SCHWINN CYCLING COACH!
This weekend includes the Silver Preparation Continuing Education, and the Silver Level Test.
Day 1: Preparation CE (5 Schwinn credits)
This one day course is highly recommended before you take the Silver Level Test. The course refreshes all the key theory from the Certification and Target Heart Rate courses, and there is plenty of time to ask questions and seek clarification from the Master Instructor on any areas participants wish to cover in more detail. The day also includes a mock technique test with individual feedback so that you are fully prepared for the real test and have the opportunity to fine tune your technique. There is also the option to do some teaching and receive feedback, or participate in a Master class to pick up tips from the Master Instructor before the coaching test the next day. This course is very much driven by the needs of the participants, with the schedule and topics covered flexed to suit your needs. There will also be a maximum ratio of one MI per 8 participants, so that everyone can receive personal attention.
Day 2: Silver Level Test (5 Schwinn credits)
The day will start with a final opportunity to ask questions or refresh knowledge, and then participants take three tests during the rest of the day. These are:
Technique test - demonstrate consistently good role-modelling of all eight Schwinn Cycling techniques.
Coaching test - deliver a 20-25 minute class, demonstrating all the aspects of a great coach.
Theory test - a 90 minute written test of approximately 50 open questions, testing knowledge of the theory taught in the Certification and Target Heart Rate courses.
It is necessary to pass all three tests to pass the Silver Level.
Any Bronze Level coach can take the Silver Level Test at any time. However, to be certified as Silver Level, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Completed the Target Heart Rate CE
2. Completed additional CE to the value of 15 Schwinn Credits - the SIlver Weekend accrues 10 credits in total (5 for Prep, 5 for Test), therefore one more CE must have been completed to gain the additional 5 credits.
3. Passed the Silver Level Test.
Therefore, if you meet 1 and 3 but not 2, you will be awarded your Silver Level status and certificate as soon as you have achieved the additional credits.
It is possible to take either day separately but it is highly recommended to complete both days consecutively. If you have any questions about these courses, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
